The Cyclone Kid

The Cyclone Kid

Presented by Bewley’s Café Theatre in Merrion Square
as part WALKABOUT, a summer 2021 outdoor season

*Returns summer 2022*

Meet Gabriel - The Cyclone Kid. He used to be the third-best tour guide in Dublin. He could sing, he could dance, he wore a green chequered suit. Did we mention his fluent Irish? He could get you into places you'd never see with anyone else. He was the real deal, climbing to the top of the TripAdvisor mountain. That was before the incident. Before it all fell apart. Now he’s a cycle courier and this is his story. Join him as he takes you on an unofficial tour of Merrion Square Park.

Written by Sam Ford
Directed by John King
Performed by Domhnall Herdman & the statues of Merrion Square
Dramaturgy by Colm Maher
Production support by Finbarr Doyle

July 14 - 24
Two extra shows added.

The playful tone of Sam Ford’s one-man show is infectious. The story is both funny and moving… Sam Ford is casual-cool in his performance style with a winning openness. Director John King moves the action from location to location with fine judgement… A very entertaining hour.”
- Irish Independent

“It is a most entertaining and diverting piece, a tonic for those of us starved of live theatre for so long, in a charismatic performance by its creator.”
